Carol has spent her career firmly focused on helping businesses whether that be working within the private sector or supporting them directly through the public sector.

The early part of Carol's career encompassed accounting, marketing, business administration and included two years full time education in Business Studies.

More recently her roles have directly supported businesses of all sizes and from various industries. This involved advising and guiding organisations with Investors in People, NVQ's (National Vocational Qualifications), EFQM (European Framework for Quality Management) and general profitability and sustainability.

She studied entrepreneurship at Durham University and graduated in 2000 with a Masters degree. She also has other business related qualifications in business & finance, training trainers, IT training, quality auditing, IIP advising and assessing, EFQM self assessments and NVQ verification. This year has seen Carol and her Business Planning Manager Angela Halliday achieve approved consultant status for the national customer service standard 'Customer First'.

Carol's can do attitude, straight talking and enthusiasm is contagious and motivates those who work alongside her.

Carol has also created a support website for those returning to work after having cancer :- Working After Cancer, this being in response to her own experience. She has also walked 100km across the Sahara desert and abseiled down the Baltic Art Centre in aid of cancer charities.
